Family history: The son of Henry and Elizabeth Rule, 37 Kerse Lane, Falkirk. He was married to Hannah Rule and they lived at 37 Kerse Lane, Falkirk with their two children Henry and Margaret. Employed as a moulder at Callendar Foundry, Falkirk, he enlisted in the Territorials on 11 September 1914, landing in France with the battalion on 15 December 1915. Upon his death Hannah was awarded a Pension for herself and the two children of 18/6 per week. She remarried and wrote under her new married name of Mrs Brown, 11 Roman Bar, Camelon, requesting Andrew’s medals for her son Henry. Andrew had four brothers and three sisters.
