Family history: Son of Marion Goodwin Kay, Wellbank, Denny and the late William Kay.

The action leading to his death

The Battery had taken up position 1,000 yards west of Tenbrielen and was firing in support of the infantry advance on the outskirts of Werviq. The War Dairy records that one other rank was wounded. This was John who subsequently died of his wounds at the Casualty Clearing Station at Lijssenthoek.
