Family history: Only son of James and Jeannie Reid, 102 Main Street, Camelon. Prior to enlisting in September 1914 he was employed as a patternmaker at the Camelon Iron Foundry. He also held the rank of Lieutenant in the Camelon company of the Boys Brigade.
