Family history: Husband of Marjory Agnes Forbes Lambert, Rosehill. Son of James and Annie Dawson Lambert. Prior to enlisting he worked with his father as a painter.

He was awarded the Military Medal for bravery in the field during an action on 20 September 1917.

The action leading to his death

The War diary for the period is missing. The Brigade was involved in the Second Battle of Passchendaele, 6 to 20 November 1917. In a letter to his wife Sergeant W. Eglinton wrote that her husband had been killed in action on 12 November and that his death was instantaneous.
